Subsidised Traineeship Qualifications

Subsidised Training Now Available

RTV Consultancy Pty Ltd (RTO 90674) is helping Tasmanian employers and workers build real skills for real careers — with government-subsidised training available for eligible apprentices, trainees, and employed workers across the resources, and construction sectors.

The following qualifications are offered as subsidised traineeships only, available to new and existing workers under the traineeship program. All prices below are GST-exempt where applicable and are current as at the date of publication.

Conditions that apply to this funding:

  • Places are subsidised traineeship enrolments only — the participant must be a new or existing worker employed, and will be under an approved Training Contract (traineeship).
  • The participant and their employer must meet the Skills Tas Participant Eligibility Criteria at the time of enrolment.
  • Employer approval of the traineeship enrolment is required before training can commence.
  • Subsidised training places are limited and subject to availability under RTV's current Funded Activities Annexure with the Minister.

Incidental fees: RTV does not currently charge separate incidental fees for these qualifications beyond the Employer Contribution Fee / Full Fee listed above. If any incidental costs apply to a specific cohort (for example, optional equipment, materials, or field-trip related costs that a participant may choose to source elsewhere), these will be clearly disclosed to the participant in writing before enrolment.

Subsidised Training Enrolment Process

At RTV Training, we've made the process simple to help you get started with your subsidised course, supported by the Tasmanian Government. We will assist in every step: 

Step 1 – Choose Your Course & Enrol 
Once you choose the course, we will ensure that it is the right course for you:
  • Confirm you meet the entry requirements of your course
  • Verify your eligibility for subsidised training
  • Confirm your employment, and that your employer approves your enrolment in the qualification
  • Complete an assessment to identify any learning or support requirements

     What to bring when you enrol:
    • Proof of identity (Driver's Licence, Passport, or Proof of Age Card)
    • Proof of Tasmanian residence (e.g. Driver's Licence or bank statement)
    • Proof of citizenship or an eligible visa (Birth certificate, passport, or copy of visa)
    • Evidence of prior study, if you want to apply for Credit Transfer or RPL
    • Verifiable USI Transcript, if you want to apply for Credit Transfer. 
    • Your employment and employer contact details
    Step 2 – Confirm your employment details
    As you are enrolling in a traineeship, your employer must approve your training and formally commit to it through a Training Contract — the legal agreement between you and your employer that sits at the heart of your traineeship. 

    RTV will work with you and your employer to:

    • Confirm your employment details, including your employer's business name and contact details 
    • Confirm the qualification you'll be undertaking, and that it suits both your career goals and your employer's workplace needs (as per the follow steps)

    Step 3 – Assessment to identify any learning or support requirements
    Before you start, RTV conducts a brief assessment to help set you up for success. 

    The process helps make sure you're supported to start in the right course, at the right level, so you can complete your training successfully.

     The assessment includes:

    • A discussion of your career goals and confirmation that the course suits your needs
    • A check of your reading, writing and numeracy skills
    • Identification of any personal or life factors that might affect your study
    • Development of a Learning and Support Plan tailored to you

    Step 4 – Privacy & Access to Your Information
    We take your privacy seriously! Your personal information is collected in line with the Australian Privacy Principles, for the purposes of training delivery, reporting, and confirming eligibility. You have the right to access or update your information.

    Step 6 – Unique Student Identifier (USI)
    Everyone undertaking nationally recognised training in Australia needs a Unique Student Identifier (USI), which links all your VET records in one secure online account. You can create your USI in minutes using ID such as a Medicare card or Driver's Licence at www.usi.gov.au.

    Step 7 - Training Contract
    Once these details are confirmed and the following steps are completed, you and your employer will need to sign the Training Contract with the support of an Apprentice Connect Australia Provider (ACAP) — a free service that manages the sign-up process on behalf of you, your employer, and RTV.

    Once signed, your ACAP lodges the Training Contract with the Skills Tasmania for registration. 

    Skills Tasmania registers the contract — once validated, the training contract is approved and registered. Registration is required before the apprenticeship or traineeship can officially commence.

    Step 8 - Develop a training plan with RTV
    Once registered, we'll work with you and your employer to develop a training plan setting out what you'll learn, how, where, and how you'll be assessed.

    It might sound like a long process, but it doesnt have to be, RTV Training will assist in everyway possible for the process to be as smooth as possible.
